Y’all! The joy that I get, as a Raleigh lifestyle photographer, when I’m contacted by someone I don’t know is UNMATCHED. It’s a magical feeling knowing that other people appreciate the hard work I put into my creative output. That’s the start of the story of how I met Queenie.

Queenie is pursuing her doctorate at UNC, and their time in North Carolina will be short lived. The session she proposed was a celebration of milestones: two years of marriage, one year of puppy cuddles, and a season of life that, though temporary, will always be a cherished chapter in their journey. That’s part of what makes capturing these moments so special—because life moves quickly, and photography has the power to pause time.

Letting Go & Embracing the Moment

Queenie and Jimmy weren’t naturals in front of the camera but they were game to try the poses and prompts I threw their way. It didn’t take long before they forgot about my camera and got a little silly. To be clear: it's very normal to feel a little nervous before a session—wondering how to pose, where to put your hands, or if your laughter will look “right” in photos. But remember that as a Raleigh lifestyle photographer, my job is to make you look good. And as a mom of three young kids, you can trust that I have plenty of experience with chasing the beautiful angles and capturing the beautiful moments that live between the perfect poses.

Booking a session with me means that you need to don’t stress about posing perfectly. All I ask if that you be present. Run through the grass, whisper inside jokes, hold each other a little tighter. That’s when the magic happens.
